Peer Tutoring & Homework Club

LHS students (both NHS and non-NHS) may become a tutor by filling out this form.

The LHS chapter of the National Honor Society has partnered with the Learning Center (room 146) in order to make academic help more readily available to students. There are three ways that students can receive tutoring:

  1. Students can drop by the Learning Center during any block of the day to receive help from student tutors. During most blocks, two to three students and two teachers staff the Learning Center. Underclassmen may go straight to the Learning Center at the beginning of their study hall period and will be issued a pass to return at the end of the block.
  2. Students who prefer help in a one-to-one setting may see Ms. Solomon, the Learning Center coordinator, who will match them with a tutor. One-to-one tutoring relationships last longer and provide more in-depth help.
  3. The NHS Homework Club meets at the Learning Center on Wednesdays after school. Tutors will be available to help students with assignments. We anticipate expanding Homework Club to meet on other days of the week in the near future.
