Project Description

Are you interested in science? Here is a fun volunteer opportunity. YES is a PTA run after- school science program that creates opportunities for children to explore the world of science through a series of hands-on activities. The experiments span a variety of physical, earth and life science areas. Groups of four children work with a high-school student volunteer to complete \ the activity. Bowman PTA will be running the YES club for their 4th and 5th graders and we need your help. Club will meet on Tuesdays after school from 3:00-4:30 at Bowman Elementary School on Philip Road in Lexington.

5th grade dates are Jan. 5, Jan 12, Jan 19, Jan 26, Feb 2, Feb 9, Feb 23 4th grades dates are March 1, March 8, March 15, March 22 , March 29, April 5, April 12.

We need many (about 10) high school volunteers for each class/day. The hours will count towards community service. If possible we would like if you can come for all sessions for a particular grade. But we appreciate if you can only volunteer for just one of the days/session. We're using VolunteerSpot (the leading online signup and reminder tool) to organize our upcoming activity.
