Project Description

Email from Barbara Simkowski from the Munroe Center for the Arts to the LHS Musical Outreach Collaboration

I am searching for some brief informal entertainments for children ages 2-10 (approximately) as part of a Lexington Retailers Association event, a holiday children's party. We will have three or four activities at tables (gingerbread cookie decorating, etc) and in a separate area entertainments which thus far include a children's book author reading her Chanukah tale, a song or two from Lexington Player's upcoming "Charlie Brown Christmas," and a story reader.

This is a program for young kids, as you well know, attention spans are short, the audience isn't always well behaved, etcetera! But given the constraints, a short program that didn't need a lot of setup or a stage would be so welcome. If the young people of LHS would like to play for the even younger people of the community, it would be lovely. Perhaps a small group of players or two, perhaps some choral would be terrific!

The time will be between 1 and 2, but each instrumental group would only play holiday music for about 10-15 minutes.

This project is for Musical Outreach Collaboration chamber groups. Please email (address redacted) along with signing up, or you will not be scheduled to play. Thanks!
