Project Description

The Lexington Town Celebration Committee is looking for up to 6 NHS students to usher at a TCC-sponsored concert by the US Air Force Heritage of America Concert Band. The concert will be held at the Cary Memorial Building at 1605 Massachusetts Avenue on Friday April 25th (the Friday during April vacation). Ushers would need to arrive at 6:15pm to hand out programs and collect tickets for the concert. Two service hours will be awarded. The Lexington Town Celebrations Committee is pleased to sponsor a concert given by the United States Air Force Heritage of America Concert Band from Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 7:30 pm in Battin Hall in the Cary Memorial Building, 1605 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington. The concert is free and open to the public however, tickets are required. For tickets please go to: www.heritageofamericaband.ticketleap.com. The Heritage of America Concert Band features the diverse talents of 38 professional musicians whose commitment to excellence has earned worldwide acclaim and military distinction. Featuring a full rhythm section in addition to a wind ensemble, the Concert Bandís versatility entertains audiences with a variety of musical selections from Broadway to symphonic classical favorites, from jazz to patriotic music. Activated in 1941, The United States Air Force Heritage of America Band has a rich history of inspiring public patriotism and enhancing esprit de corps among all the US military service branches. These world class musicians are stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia. They travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, presenting over 300 events annually for the general public and in support of Airman morale and protocol events. The USAF Heritage of America Band remains at the forefront of communicating Air Force core values and preserving and enriching Americaís military and musical heritage into the 21st century.
