Project Description

The Fiske Elementary School has a 4th grade science club which runs on Wednesday afternoons in the fall/winter. The group meets in the school art room from 3:15-4:30, and while we have 5-7 parents helping with each session, we really could use additional, skilled people to help guide the 30+ children through each afternoon's experiments. Would members of the Lexington High NHS be interested in helping with the science club sessions?

We have science kits for most of the sessions, so preparation for each meeting would just require reading through the instructions and having a quick conversation with the lead parent before the start of each session.

If you are interested in helping the Fiske science club, please let me know what dates you are available, from 3-4:30pm:

December 4 Electric Motors, Speakers (Electricity/Magnetism) December 11 Electronic Matching Game (Electricity & Circuits) December 18 Catch A Thief (Chromatography) January 8 Newton's Car (Motion & Design) January 15 Catapults (Simple Machines) January 22 Deep Sea Divers (Flotation & Density) January 29 Hydrolift (Hydraulics) February 5 Kalimba Piano (Sound) February 12 Airplanes (Aerodynamics)
