The LHS chapter of the National Honor Society has partnered with the Learning Center in order to make academic help more readily available to students. There are two ways that students can receive tutoring:

1. Students can drop by the Learning Center during any block of the day to receive help from student tutors. During most blocks, two to three students and two teachers staff the Learning Center. Underclassmen may go straight to the Learning Center at the beginning of their study hall period and will be issued a pass to return at the end of the block.

2. Students who prefer help in a one-to-one setting may see Ms. Solomon, the Learning Center coordinator, who will match them with a tutor. One-to-one tutoring relationships last longer and provide more in-depth help.

NHS members will be given NHS service hours for their time spent tutoring in the Learning Center.

There are 74 NHS members participating in this project.
