Project Description

The Youth Literacy Corps offers high school students the opportunity to join a community-wide effort to improve literacy, particularly among disadvantaged children in local neighborhoods. Students read with children at the Medford Boys and Girls Club. Transportation is proved to and from Lexington High School. The program runs on Tuesday afternoons and students may sign up for a fall session, winter session, spring session, or multiple sessions. Pick-up time outside Lexington High is 2:30pm; arrival back at Lexington High is approximately 5:00pm. More information can be found online at www.bostonjcc.org/ylc.

The JCC Youth Literacy Corps is a youth social justice program of the JCCs of Greater Boston in partnership with the Jewish Community Relations Council TELEM Teen Initiative and Lexington High School.
