Project Description

Lexington Learns Together is an professional development event held at LHS for all educators in the Lexington Public School System. During the hours of 8:00am - 3:15pm teachers circulate throughout LHS to meet, discuss and collaborate ideas in order to improve the quality of public education in Lexington.

Volunteer Responsibilities: -putting up signage -guiding educators -assisting with lunch setup as needed -removing signs at the end of the day

Details about the day: -Student volunteers should arrive by 7:45, to help put up signs throughout the HS -Volunteers direct educators to the auditorium, for opening festivities, and then direct/guide educators to the classrooms they need to be in for each session (transition times are 9:00-9:15, 10:30-10:45, 12:00-12:15, 1:15-1:30). -While the first 2 sessions are taking place (9:15-10:30, 10:45-12:15), volunteers will have some down time. It would be very appreciated if assistance was offered in Commons 1 and II to the team setting up lunch, as they might need some help during the second session. Student volunteers can split the time (half helping set up lunch, then switch out with the rest of the group) so that they can have more uninterrupted down time. -During the 3rd session (1:30-2:45), volunteers will be needed to help take down the signs throughout the high school. Volunteers would be free to leave no later than 2:45 (and likely earlier).
