Project Highlights

The Lexington Interfaith Food Pantry is a non-profit organization which distributes food to over 50 families every Saturday. Run entirely by volunteers, this operation relies on its dedicated staff and donations from local businesses. Since its opening in November of 1990, the Food Pantry has assisted many families who struggle to make ends meet. NHS members who volunteer at the Food Pantry on weekends help organize and distribute food items.

For the past few years, NHS members have provided invaluable hours of service for Drumlin Farm in Lincoln. Under the Mass Audubon Society, Drumlin Farm is an educational farm geared towards children and families. Many of their events highlight the seasons: in the winter they have a maple-syrup event and in the spring a sheep-shearing festival. In the coming months, Drumlin Farm has requested volunteers for their Halloween celebration Tales of the Night, their October Harvest Weekends, and Flower Arranging.

Any LHS student interested in helping out with these or other NHS projects may contact us to get involved.
